BASICS AND TIPS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN STANDING UP PADDLE BOARDING

1. Check the weather and wind before going out and paddling. Strong winds, especially from land, and cold weather can make your canoeing difficult. Feel free to start your canoeing in the direction of the wind and you will get back wind.

2. Wear life jacket and suitable clothing for today's temperature. Wet suit available for lending.

3. Always attach the leash (catch strap) around one of your ankles.

4. Set the correct paddle length. About a fist taller than yourself is a suitable starting point.

5. The angle of the paddle blade must be facing forward. The entire blade should be driven into the water under the paddle. Pull the paddle at a vertical angle near the side of the board.

6. If you are a first-time paddler - start by paddling standing on your knees for the first paddle to get to know the board. Then stand up softly.

7. Stand approximately hip-width with feet parallel on each side of the board carrying handle at the center of the tire. Strive for a relaxed posture and was soft in the knees and hips. Paddle with a stable upper body and use the body's large muscle groups instead of just paddling with the arms.

8. After a couple of paddle moves on one side, switch sides by changing the position of the hands on the paddle. The upper hand comes down on the paddle shaft, and the lower up on the paddle grip.

9. Change the direction of the board by paddling with wide and sweeping paddle joints on one side until the board begins to turn. For narrower turns and braking, you can also perform paddle joints in the opposite direction, ie paddle backwards on one side of the board until it turns.

10. If you fall in - hold the paddle in one hand and hurry up while lying against the deck of the board. Should you be separated from the board and paddle, always focus on getting the board first.

11. Have a wonderful trip on the water!
